this one goes out to my boy

there is nothing more precious to a momma's heart than seeing her child bask in the happiness of success.  For them to know that hard work pays off.  Tristen has listened to Rhett's continual encouragement to develop his left handed ball skills, dug deep and heeded his Auntie Aubrey's defensive tips, and spends endless time working on his shot ~ just him, the hoop, and his beloved, worn and torn, black and red basketball.  He's developed some serious skills over the past few months and makes our hearts pump and our fists bump with parental pride to see him out there on the court, playing well, and taking pride is his own improvements and accomplishments.  This team is a stand up collection of boys that are becoming young men, that have fun, work hard, and are deserving of the Champions title.  Way to go Birdie!  We are so proud of you. You make this Mom Life a super sweet experience.  Me loves you, the whole wide world.

an afternoon at the Oregon Zoo

do I look like I'm 5 years old in this photo, or what

I can't believe our little rendevous to the zoo was a week ago already!  A week ago today, my brother and sister-in-law dropped their boys with us and headed to Seattle.  My momma came up Saturday to make sure we properly feed and clothed the boys while their parents were away.  It was so fun to have her here for Mother's Day weekend.  Saturday afternoon my sissy Karley and her boyfriend came over, and we all took a little stroll to the Max, hopped on, and took it to the Oregon Zoo..

Perfect Day.

go get a pedi with your man, just do it

it is such a great way to spend a relaxing evening together,
and you both will have pretty, summer sandal ready toes.
Do it!

Gosh, it's been awhile since I've poked my nose in over here on my blog space.  Life has been fast paced and beautifully enjoyable lately.  Well, enjoyable with the exception of the dental work I had a few days ago that left my tongue and entire bottom of my mouth numb, and me mute. I'm not going to make crazy accusations, but I might speculate that Rhett and Tristen took my afternoon of silence and my request for Yo Cream that night as a small gift from above.  ;)

Keepin' me honest: food diary ~ 5/03/13

source: Me
I made my first Ecard, ever
to REMIND me this weekend:
fitting back into my jeans next week, would be cool

I cannot tell you how incredible posting my "Food Intake" has been for me this past week.  It has given me a guide of what to eat, when to eat, and has kept me honest.  Sure, other options are available: My fitness pal, a note pad, spreadsheets, etc.  BUT, those options aren't something I am publishing, interacting with in dimensional ways all day long, able to provide my random thoughts to, or adding a photo of inspiration or encouragement that meets where my head is for that day.. or most important: working for me.  This is working for me and I love it.

Have a wonderful weekend!  It is going to :: let me take a moment here and pinch myself::  hit over EIGHTY this weekend in Portland.  !!!!!!
